Llandrindod Transition Group

The Llandrindod Transition Town initiative ... Making the Change for a Better Future for Llandrindod.

The Llandrindod Transition group is part of the Transition Network, a worldwide organisation of people who want to do something practical locally to reduce our impact on the environment in the face of climate change and diminishing resources. We are non-political and non-confrontational. We don't campaign 'against things'.

We hold monthly public meetings where we usually have a guest speaker. Recent topics have included Forest Gardens and Permaculture; Riversimple Eco Vehicles; Developing the Heart of Wales railway; and Community Energy generation schemes.

We run a regular Repair Café where our volunteer 'fixperts' help visitors repair any broken items they bring along.

We organise Llandrindod's annual May Fair.

We have planted the Llandrindod Pomarium (community orchard) together with Friends of Rock Park.

We arrange training courses on practical skills that can help us live more sustainably.

We help run local Eco-Homes days.
