Olivia Gomez

Olivia is in her second year of a Masters in Music Performance Degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and is currently studying under Beatrice Unsworth and Michael Pollock. Olivia is generously supported in her studies by the Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust Award.

During her college career Olivia was the Narrator in the first staged production of Brian Irvine's Dirty Beasts, which toured primary schools in the South Wales and recently played the part of Miss Prism in Music Theatre Wales’ Contemporary Opera Scenes. Currently Olivia sings with the BBC National Chorus of Wales and during her time with them has performed various step out solos including in a recording of Arthur Sullivan's 'The Beauty Stone' where Olivia sang alongside Rebecca Evans, Elin Manahan Thomas & Toby Spence as a soloist.

Olivia has appeared as the alto soloist for Mendelssohn’s 'Elijah' in Taunton and last October Olivia revisited the alto solos at St John Smiths Square in a Three Choirs Awareness Concert. Olivia was also the alto soloist in Vivaldi’s Gloria and Dixit Dominus with Bristol Choral Society in Bristol Cathedral. Last Christmas Olivia appeared alongside Catherine Bott as the alto soloist for the Monteverdi Vespers with Llandaff Cathedral Choral Society. However, more recently, Olivia performed alongside the Cardiff Polyphonic Choir in their 50th Anniversary Concert. Operatic experience includes Miss Prism in The Importance of being Earnest for Contemporary Opera Scenes with Music Theatre Wales and Nancy in the RWCMD production of Albert Herring (Britten).

Ben Pinnow

A South Wales based choral conductor, répétiteur and musical educator, Ben graduated in 2014 from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Masters in Choral Conducting where he received the Busenhart-Morgan-Evans Choral Conducting Bursary – awarded by the Worshipful Company of Singers.

Ben studied piano at Cardiff University with renowned pianist Richard Ormrod. He holds the ABRSM Diploma in piano performance which he passed with Distinction in 2002. Recent engagements as répétiteur include Hansel and Gretel and Beggar's Opera with Opera'r Ddraig (2014), plus extensive work on various projects with Welsh National Opera’s education and outreach department. He is also excited to have just been accepted on to the Live Music Now scheme.

Ben is currently the musical director for City Voices Bristol, Roath Community Chorus, Cwmbach Male Choir and Opera Mint Wales for whom he also works as répétiteur. He is also assistant musical director and principal accompanist for Canton Chorus.
