Llandrindod Carnival is an annual event traditionally taking place on the first Saturday of July. It is jointly run by Llandrindod Round Table and Ladies Circle but we welcome anyone who feels they can make a contribution.
The day starts at around 12 noon with a gathering of floats and fancy dress in the staff car park of County Hall. Schools, organisations and businesses enter some amazing floats and the standard increases every year. They are judged before parading around the town. The parade takes about an hour and winds around the main roads in the town. Come and wave!
After the parade there is the fete on Temple Gardens (opposite the Metropole Hotel). We crown out Carnival Queen (and sometimes King) as well as presenting prizes for floats and fancy Dress. Stalls, games and bouncy castles all afternoon along with food and drink and entertainment. Local groups perform music and dance and we have visiting acts to entertain and amaze you (one recent act was the Savage Skills Mountain Bike Stunt team). The fun lasts well into the evening with a Lorry Pull on Middleton Street and live music on the Bandstand all the way through till 9pm.
Come take part, float or fancy dress or just come and support. Find us on Facebook and Like our page to follow what we are doing and what is coming next.
Date of the next Carnival is Saturday 1st July 2017
